NICK CARDY

Nick Cardy (1920 – 2013) is one of the finest illustrators in the comics business and has an impressive list of credits spanning several genres. Cardy began working in comics during the Silver Age and developed his unique and excellent artistic style almost exclusively at DC Comics.

His contributions to comics includes work on sci-fi, western, romance, horror, and super-hero comics on such titles as From Beyond the Unknown, Bat Lash, Falling In Love, Ghosts, The Unexpected, The Witching Hour, Superman, The Flash, Action Comics, Wonder Woman, Brave & The Bold, Batman, and Worlds Finest. He is best known, however, for his work on the original Teen Titans series and the Silver Age Aquaman series.

Cardy was inducted into the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 2005. In 2011 he released Nick Cardy: The Artist At War, recalling his career and, specifically, publishing many of the numerous sketches of his experiences while serving in the Army during World War II.
