JOE PRADO
Comic artist Joe Prado began his illustration career in his home country of Brazil. Providing artwork for Role Playing Game magazines and books, Prado has also worked in advertising and taught fine arts. In 2004, he started producing artwork for US based comics, initially (with fellow artist Ivan Reis) on Action Comics.
His list of credits include primarily work for DC Comics on such characters as Superman, the Teen Titans, Warlord, Green Lantern, and Black Canary. He also worked on such DC events as Blackest Night, Brightest Day, and the Rann/Thanagar War as well as The New 52, for which he also produced the initial concept redesigns of DC’s major characters.
His other works include Dynamite! Entertainments Red Sonja and Battlestar Galactica titles as well as The Phantom and Painkiller Jane, among others.
Prado still lives in São Paulo. He sites fellow Latin American artists George Pérez and José Luis Garcia-Lopez as well as Alex Raymond (creator of Flash Gordon) and Hal Foster (creator of Prince Valiant) among his favorite artists.
