Signed by the artist, Stephan Franck (the supervising animator on The Iron Giant), this print set features three images from the classic film; Hogarth Hughes’ first encounter with the Giant, his showing the Giant his comic collection, and Kent Mansley searching for the Giant. Each print measures 13 by 19 inches, is in nm/mint and undisplayed condition, and they will be shipped with the utmost care. Of particular note, the Superman themed print underscores the Giant’s growth from terrible war machine to full sentience. Key to this development is Hogarth’s sharing with the Giant his enthusiasm for the Man of Steel, and how Superman only uses his powers for good. The comic Hogarth shows the Giant, Action Comics #188, was an actual Superman comic from the period (released by DC in 1954).
The prints feature high-quality archival paper and two are a limited edition of only 100 produced- the third, featuring Kent Mansley, is limited to only 50. They are individually numbered as part of a matching set (all three prints are #5). Please note- the signatures are real.
