This preliminary cover illustration to Secret Origins #6 (1986… the dawn of what is now considered the Modern Age) features the work of legendary comic illustrator José Luis García-López. It measures 8 1/2 by 11 inches, is in excellent condition, and will be shipped with the utmost care. The prelim is the near-final version of how the cover would ultimately appear (with editorial note at top to move Batman’s arm so that his chest symbol is visible-presumably written by editor Roy Thomas). Secret Origins ran for 50 issues (from 1986 until 1990) and issue #6 marked the beginning of the double feature format, with the origin of one Golden Age character (in this issue, Batman) and one Silver or Modern Age character (Halo of the Outsiders). Please note- this is an actual, original piece of art illustrated by hand by García-López. It is not a copy, print or pre-printed image. It is a one-of-a-kind original.
